Morgan Round the Island Race

Whether you are an experienced sailor or new to sailing this is
THE race to participate, its popularity surpasses itself as sailors
come back year after year. The magnificent spectacle of over 1500
yachts heading down the Needles and round the Isle of Wight is unforgettable.
Each year it offer new surprises, with extraordinary yachts of all
sizes and shapes battle it out for the coveted Gold Roman Bowl and
handicap prizes.
Cowes Week
1st-8th August 2009
Cowes Week has been running since 1826 and heralds the longest running
regular regatta in the World. Every year the event sees an influx
of around 900 competing yachts in over 35 classes. The regatta attracts
competitors from many different countries adding to an international
flavour including royalty.
The Rolex Fastnet
9th-13th August 2009 The Rolex Fastnet Race is the most famous and challenging of the Royal Ocean Racing Club races. Since its establishment in 1925 the Fastnet Race has provided thousands of sailors with the ultimate challenge of rounding the Fastnet Rock. Racing hard for over 600 miles for 5 days, from Cowes to the infamous rock off Southern Ireland and back to Plymouth, against over 200 yachts, in all weather conditions is what gives this race its tough reputation.
The Little Britain Challenge Cup
10th-13th September 2009
This is the largest annual corporate yachting regatta in Europe.
It now attracts over 230 entries exclusively within the construction
industry and raises an incredible amount of money for Jubilee and
Cirdan Sailing Trusts.
